Aria’s Toddler Room Update
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog. I’m so thrilled to finally be getting this post up because I’ve been working on Aria’s new toddler room for months! If you follow along on Instagram, I’m sure you already know that because I’ve been giving sneak peaks here and there on instastories! For Aria’s nursery reveal, I went for a very glam feel with black, pink and gold but over the past two years my taste has changed a bit and I really wanted to go for something a little softer and bohemian-ish. I loved the idea of a house bed for a toddler especially when transitioning from a crib because you really don’t have to worry about your kids falling onto the floor in the middle of the night so I knew I wanted that from the get-go. I had Blake build this bed and we just used Aria’s crib mattress. She was so excited when we were setting it up and we kept telling her that it was her “big girl” bed! Although, when it came time to actually go to sleep that night she was a little sad. I didn’t realize how attached she was to her bed… it was like she was mourning it! Haha. She adjusted really quickly to it though and I loved how it turned out.
My next inspiration was this nightstand that I found at Ross. I was in love with this when I saw it and couldn’t let it go. I loved the natural wood and once I got this piece it all started to come together in my head. From there, we had the bed and the nightstand all set up and I decided that this jute rug would tie all of that in together so I found one that I linked below for a great price! I kept the floating shelves in the same spot (from her nursery set-up) and just moved the cube bookcase underneath it and put all of Aria’s book on it. To keep that natural element going, I found these woven storage bins at The Container Store so I could put some toys in them! I decorated with some of the book and then also got some pretty books at antique stores when I saw them. Lastly I finished off that bookcase with this pink globe that I found at Marshall’s one day but I linked a similar one since you can’t link to Marshall’s.
Next, we took out the long dresser from her nursery that we used for a changing table and put this tall one in instead. It has big drawers so I wasn’t losing much storage space. I ended up painting it blue to pull in the pillow from her bed and I love how it turned out in the room! This dresser was mine when I was a kid so it’s really old. I found a cute wooden tray and added that one top with a candle, antlers, and a picture of me and my girl. I also added this blue faux fur stool from Ross and an old white suitcase from an antique store and just loved how that looked there!
Lastly, I didn’t have any idea on what I was going to do with the last open wall and decided to put her Ikea kitchen in there that she got for Christmas. I found all of the baskets at an antique store near my house and I think I spent a total of $8 on that wall, haha. Aria plays with that kitchen everyday and I thought it’d be nice to space out her toys around the house… most of her toys are in my office/her playroom! This turned out so awesome and I love that we give give Aria a beautiful room because I know she loves it and knows it’s hers. Thanks for stopping by today to check this out! If you have any questions at all feel free to ask! I couldn’t link everything but I linked a good amount below! Some are exact items and some are just similar. I hope this gives you some inspiration for your little one’s room in the future!
