Transitioning your wardrobe between seasons is all about saving money and getting creative with your pieces. LAYERING is key, people! Today I’m styling one dress for two different seasons to show you how easy it can be to keep your pieces in your closet all year round!
For example, this olive shift dress was so cute that I just couldn’t pass it up. When I saw it I thought that it would be so perfect for this hot Texas weather. It’s loose and sleeveless, and I love wearing this olive color in the summer! As I began to checkout with this dress in my cart online, I wondered if I should go through with the purchase since we are getting closer to fall. I realized it would be a fun challenge to style this dress two ways to show you guys how versatile a staple piece (like this dress) can be!
Above you can see how cute this dress looks with a cozy cardigan for fall! I layered it over this dress and paired it with my go-to fall bag (I’ve had this for a year now and it’s one of my favorites). You could easily switch out these block heels for brown booties once it actually gets colder but for this shoot I just couldn’t do it. I think it was over 100 degrees when we shot this look, haha. I also thought this would look really cute with a black leather jacket and black heels for date night!
If you scroll down you’ll see how I actually wore this dress since it was so hot that day! I paired it with these black, slip on sneakers and my black bucket bag. It was so comfy and most importantly, it kept me cool.
So, when it comes to transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall, remember that layering is going to be your best friend! Grab all of your cozy cardigans and chambray shirts to really finish off the look. Also, don’t be afraid to wear your bright colored summer pieces into fall too. One of my favorite colors to see in fall is bright magenta! You can always through on a brown or grey cardigan and booties to tone it down.
I hope you all loved reading this post and I appreciate you stopping by today! If you liked it, I’d love to see your comments below! Happy Tuesday!
