Well, as you can tell by my shirt above, Blake and I are expecting! We are excited to finally share the news with all of our friends! If you want to hear the funny story about this ‘OOPS’ keep reading!
I am 13 weeks along, so now I am officially in my second trimester. I am still having a hard time wrapping my brain around this life-altering news, but I am getting there! Earlier this summer, Blake and I went on a family vacation to the Bahamas, and towards the end of the trip I began to feel extremely tired, and every now and then a little queasy. Sometimes I have an uneasy stomach and the sun was soo hot that I didn’t think anything of it at the time. When we got back home I was still feeling sick! For the next 2 days I complained to my mom and Blake, and of course my mom kept saying, “you’re pregnant…” I ignored her comment, but when the sickness continued I caved and got a pregnancy test. I knew that if I wasn’t pregnant then I must have gotten some weird virus in the Bahamas, haha. I took the test and it immediately popped up positive!!! I took a second test just to make sure, and then cried on my cousin Heather’s shoulder at work. I wasn’t really sad, just extremely shocked by the news. I called my mom, and we scheduled an appointment at the doctor’s office. I drove home and told Blake to come get in the car. He didn’t understand why I came home from work early and was very confused. I gave him the test and all he did was smile at me! He continued to say nothing, but just kept smiling haha. I said, “look what you did to me!” We both laughed and drove to the appointment to further confirm our pregnancy news.
The funniest part about this story is that on our way home from the Bahamas we started to discuss when we would start trying for kids. We then decided that we wait another 2 years!! Hahaha. Well I guess someone else had a different plan in mind. 🙂 We are extremely blessed, and we are excited for the journey ahead of sleepless nights and lots of snuggles.
