A Pregnant Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I am so excited to talk about this look today because this is one of the most comfortable dresses I’ve ever worn! Isabella Oliver sent this over to me and I thought it would be the perfect Valentine’s Day dress with some pops of red. I added my black leather jacket, red heels and Old Navy bag that I got for under $10! Such a deal- I linked a similar version. Valentine’s Day is one of my absolute favorite holidays. I am such a hopeless romantic haha and I just love everything red and pink! I will be 40 weeks pregnant tomorrow, so Blake and I took it super easy today which I definitely needed after the night we had. Yesterday, I was having strong contractions all night and after two hours of consistent contractions we decided to head in to the hospital to get checked out. We were really excited to possibly have a Valentine’s baby and I really thought this was it based on the severity of the contractions and the frequency that they were coming but after being monitored for a couple of hours I didn’t progress at all and was still only dilated to a 2 (which I have been at for almost 2 weeks now). So after getting our hopes up we came home in the middle of the night and went back to bed. These last few weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions for me. My best advice for expecting moms is to not read too much into things. I have gotten my hopes up too many times in the past two weeks and it really stinks. I think that is partly because this is my first pregnancy and I didn’t know what to expect and just hoping I wouldn’t have to carry past 40 weeks. Every pregnancy is so different and I am learning that I can’t really compare mine to anyone else’s. I am a pretty small person and have had a hard time stretching to get big enough for this little girl which has also taken a toll on my emotions and energy. All I can say for sure is that I am constantly having to remind myself that the timing is in God’s hands and unfortunately that has been hard for me, though I know it’s true. Hopefully she will be here soon, so if you will say a little prayer for us it would mean so much. I hope you all had a great Vday and I have linked my outfit details below! Sorry for the long post but I thought I’d provide a little update for anyone wondering!

XO,
